Tierra Whack scores her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 13), as her collaboration with Lil Yachty, “T.D,” featuring A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator, debuts at No. 83.
The track opens with 6.2 million U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads sold in the week ending June 4, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
“T.D” appears on Yachty’s new LP Lil Boat 3, which arrives at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 with 33,000 equivalent album units.
Before this week, Whack had appeared on Billboard’s charts with one track: “My Power,” with Beyoncé and Moonchild Sanelly and featuring Nija, reached No. 11 on World Digital Song Sales in August 2019. The song is from The Lion King: The Gift, curated by Beyoncé.
Whack broke out in 2018 with her debut album Whack World, which features 15 one-minute songs, along with music video components for each track.
“T.D” concurrently debuts at No. 34 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Notably, the track was co-produced by Lil Yachty and 30Roc, the latter of whom also produced Roddy Ricch’s former 11-week Hot 100 No. 1 “The Box.” As “T.D” samples Teriyaki Boyz’s “Tokyo Drift (Fast & Furious),” the group’s members, Ilmari, Ryo-Z, Verbal and Wise, are credited as songwriters, along with Whack, Yachty, 30Roc, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator and Pharrell Williams.
