ScHoolboy Q is officially returning with a new album in 2024 — and it’s just weeks away.
The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper announced on Thursday (February 1) that his next project Blue Lips will be released on March 1.
Q shared a trailer for the album via his website, with the 37-second video giving fans their first glimpse at the tracklist.
While guest artists (if there are any) have been omitted, it’s revealed that Blue Lips will feature 17 songs, with titles such as “Time Killers,” “Cooties” and “Germany ’86” — the latter being a nod to Q’s place of birth.
At the end of the trailer, a dictionary definition for “blue lips” appears on screen which reads: “adj. 1. speechless, especially as the temporary result of shock or some strong emotion. 2. (of a person or mood) shocked, speechless, or embarrassed; the crowd gave me blue lips.
“n. 1. a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something. 2. coon; they were coonin. v. 1. become fully aware of (something) as a fact; understand clearly.”

ScHoolboy Q has been teasing a new album for some time, most recently saying in December that he has “something special” up his sleeve.
Before that, in June, the South Central native reposted a video on social media of the hosts of the Back On Figg podcast sharing insight into his forthcoming project.
“We been in the mixing process of ScHoolboy Q’s album. That shit is coming very very soon,” the team said. “The album sounding fire. This is something big right now. We have been in the studio with my brother every week.”
Q released the single “Soccer Dad” back in April 2022, which marked his first solo release in three years, but it appears that won’t be on the album.
Blue Lips will serve as the follow-up to 2019’s CrasH Talk, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 after earning 81,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
The album, ScHoolboy Q’s fifth, boasted a star-studded supporting cast that included Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, YG and Ty Dolla $ign.
Q later admitted that he scrapped three albums’ worth of material before settling on the finished version of CrasH Talk after fielding advice from labelmates Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock.
Blue Lips will also kickstart what’s shaping up to be a busy year for TDE, who are prepping a deluxe edition of SZA’s blockbuster SOS as well as a compilation album celebrating the label’s 20th anniversary.
