Young Thug‘s brother has been arrested on a gun charge, just months after taking a plea deal in the Young Slime Life (YSL) RICO case.
According to WSB-TV, Unfoonk (real name Quantavious Grier) was booked into Fulton County Jail on Thursday (May 4) on charges of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, persons associated with a criminal street gang to participate in illegal activity and other minor traffic offenses.

Unfoonk previously pleaded guilty to one count of violating the RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property in the aforementioned RICO case in December.

As part of the deal, he accepted a 12-year sentence with two years commuted to time served, along with 10 years of probation.

His probation conditions included not having any contact with Young Thug and other defendants until the case is over, performing 750 hours of community service, abiding by a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and not having a gun.

As of his immediate arrest, it’s unclear how these new charges will affect the terms of his plea deal.

After accepting his plea deal in December, Unfoonk took to his Instagram Stories to deny rumors about him snitching on Young Thug.

“Damn people really think I told on my own brother smh,” he wrote at the time. “show me in the paper work I told on anybody lol, I’m not even fenna entertain any of it, peace and blessings.”

During an Instagram Live session days later, Unfoonk claimed the deal also included rules about what he’s allowed to say in his music.

In the video, a member of his entourage could be heard saying, “We can’t even wipe our nose.” Another member of the crew says “slat,” at which point a separate voice interjects with, “Can’t say that. He had to go back in his album and redo lyrics.”

A snippet of a song then came on, with Unfoonk heard rapping, “Tell them bitches ain’t no doubting me/ I forever scream slat/ I beat another charge/ That’s another art,” before jumping in to say, “I’m serious! Stop! Take it out.”

Young Thug, meanwhile, remains behind bars awaiting trial in the sprawling case against his YSL collective, who prosecutors allege is a “criminal street gang” behind a series of violent crimes in the Atlanta area.

The Punk rapper faces eight charges, including conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, along with a string of drug and weapons offenses.

Last month, he filed a fourth motion for bond, with his attorney Brian Steel arguing that Thug’s daily routine of waking up at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. and not returning to jail until late has left him “sleep-deprived” and unable to properly prepare for the trial.

Judge Ural Glanville has yet to rule on the motion.
