Brian Steel, the lawyer representing Young Thug in his RICO case, is also part of Diddy’s legal defense team.
Cudi’s testimony followed repeated mentions of his short-lived relationship with Cassie in 2011 during the trial.
He confirmed that they dated in 2011 and that Cassie had broken up with Diddy.
Cudi stated that Diddy found out about the relationship in December 2011, and that Cassie called him distressed.
He said that the same night, a friend informed him Diddy was inside his home.
On his way back, Cudi called Diddy, who allegedly told him: “I’m over here waiting for you.”
Cudi said he returned home to find that his security cameras were disabled and that someone had rifled through his things, including unwrapping gifts for his family.
He also testified that his dog was injured and locked in the bathroom during the incident.
Cudi said the dog became “jittery and on edge” afterward.
He shared his emotions about the break-in, saying: “I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him.”
Cudi noted that he reported the break-in to the police.
He also addressed the incident involving his car, which was set on fire a month later.
According to his testimony, someone threw a molotov cocktail into his vehicle while he was away, and his dog sitter informed him before he reported it to the police.
Cudi said that he and Diddy arranged a meeting to talk about the situation, and he noted that Diddy acted friendly and that he eventually “found peace” with the situation.
Cudi added that Diddy denied any involvement in the car fire.
