Young Nudy has returned with his new album Gumbo, and Drake has already given the project a massive co-sign.
The 13-track, food-inspired tape features two appearances from 21 Savage and Key Glock, as well as production from frequent collaborator Pi’erre Bourne, COUPE, Naestro and others.
Gumbo serves as the follow-up to Nudy’s EA Monster LP, which dropped in August 2022 and earned a 3.8 out of 5 score from HipHopDX.
Drake made it known he was tucking into the PDE representative’s latest offering by sharing a screenshot of him listening to the album on Spotify, captioning the photo with three speaker emojis.
Gumbo arrives after Young Nudy suffered a massive song breach in December, and personally vowed to hunt down those responsible for leaking 172 songs of his without his consent.
“I’ma say this shit one time, bro. I don’t know if y’all know, I’m not like other rappers, bro,” he said in a video posted to social media. “I’m 100 percent finna take my time out to find out 100 percent who exactly is leaking my music.”
He continued: “And I’m 100 percent gonna pull up at whatever studio it is and I’m 100 percent gon’ beat your ass, on my momma.”
The Atlanta rapper believed the culprit could be someone involved with a recording studio. Chance The Rapper’s brother, Taylor Bennett, offered up a similar theory after he suffered a leak of his own.
In other Nudy news, the 30-year-old recently made a guest appearance on Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains LP, reconnecting with his cousin 21 Savage on the track “Umbrella.”
He has also linked up with Rolling Loud for a North American tour. The 29-date run begins on March 1 in San Diego and concludes on April 20 in his hometown of Atlanta. The tour will be Nudy’s first since the release of EA Monster.
