The conflict continues.
Tupac and Nas had a tumultuous relationship. Even though both were among the most respected rappers of their era, their rivalry was intense. Tupac criticized Nas in the posthumous track “Against All Odds,” and Nas allegedly took a jab at ‘Pac on “The Message.” Not surprisingly, Tupac’s group, the Outlawz, sided with him in the dispute. They declared war on Nas and the East Coast. And based on the latest release from Outlawz member Young Noble, the feud is still ongoing.
Young Noble dropped a diss track aimed at Nas on Thursday, January 2. Named “EuthaNASia,” the track features Young Noble going hard on Nas, as if it’s still 1996. The lyrics don’t quite match the level of Nas’ recent work, but that’s an extremely high expectation. Over a seven-minute run time, Young Noble delves into Nas’ past and rumors he’s heard from people like N.O.R.E. The beat hits hard, though it eventually becomes repetitive. It’s a solid diss, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given Young Noble’s recent remarks about Nas.

Recently, the Outlawz rapper called out Snoop Dogg for “misremembering” a past encounter between Tupac and Nas. He claimed that Snoop distorted the details of a meeting the two rappers had in Bryant Park in the 1990s. “He had a wild version of the story like Nas had ‘Pac surrounded and all that,” Young Noble said during an interview with the Art of Dialogue. “I’m thinking maybe Snoop don’t realize all these n**gas is actually with Tupac… Not with Nas.” Although the rapper expressed admiration for Snoop Dogg, given his connection to Tupac, he humorously referenced Kendrick Lamar’s recent diss of Snoop on the track “wacced out murals.”
Young Noble suggested that Snoop’s memory of the Bryant Park incident might have been influenced by the “edibles” he had consumed. “When Kendrick […] was saying to Snoop, ‘I hope it was the edibles.’ I hope it was the edibles when he said this one,” Young Noble speculated. It will be interesting to see if Nas responds to Noble in his music. The Queens rapper has always shown respect for Tupac since his passing, so he may choose to ignore the diss out of respect for the late legend.
