While the release date for Christopher Nolan’s mysterious thriller Tenet continues to bounce around due to the coronavirus, Travis Scott revealed on Tuesday (Aug. 18) that his brain-melting theme song for the film, “The Plan,” will drop on Friday (Aug. 21).

Scott hyped the song with a tweet that read “FLAME X CHRIS NOLAN COOK UP THE PLAN FRIDAY,” above a moody photo of star Washington floating in red space alongside the title of the film — which stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh –and the song.

The rapper expounded on his role in the film in an interview with GQ, after accidentally playing “The Plan” for the writer, who describes it as a “brain-liquefying trip through time and space.”

Though it’s Scott first attempt to write a soundtrack song, Nolan tells the magazine that Trav’s contribution to the hush-hush project was like the final piece of a “yearlong puzzle… His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

Asked to describe the the film, Scott says, “I can’t even explain it. You literally just have to watch it. It’s very fire.” The MC also revealed that he’s been in the lab cooking up the follow-up to his 2018 hit album Astroworld, which he described as “embodying all of the knowledge I’ve taken in and trying to make the best form of it.”

After moving around from two dates in July to Aug. 12, the mysterious thriller is not scheduled to open in the U.S. on Sept. 3.
