Tory Lanez‘s alleged assault victim has claimed he was “threatened” into signing their recent settlement agreement.
According to RadarOnline, Love & Hip Hop star Prince asked a court to throw out his settlement with the Canadian rapper, claiming he was forced to sign it during a meeting where one of Tory’s associates had a gun.
Court documents show Prince wants the court to reject the settlement that Lanez apparently asked to be enforced following two separate altercations that took place in Miami, both of which Prince sued him for.
In December, Tory’s lawyer Kadisha Phelps told the court he’d agreed a deal with Prince to end his lawsuit over the alleged assaults, claiming she had “information to believe that a settlement has already been reached between the parties and [Lanez] has tendered funds to [Prince] in the consummation of their agreement.”
Prince said that in June 2022, Lanez called him to set up a meeting to discuss a settlement, but when he arrived he found Lanez alongside a man carrying a gun.
“[Lanez] presented me with a document that he drafted himself and ordered that I sign the agreement,” Prince said. “He told me not to contact my lawyer when I told him I needed my lawyer to review the agreement.”
He continued: “This individual is the same individual who was ordered by [Lanez] to attack me at the Vendome nightclub and he did so. I cannot share his identity at this time as this individual threatened me that if I mention his name I would be severely injured or even killed. This individual was in possession of a firearm which was visible at the meeting.”
Prince claimed Tory Lanez and the other man “aggressively ordered me to sign the agreement,” believing he would be hurt if he didn’t agree to his terms.
“I would have never signed the agreement otherwise,” he said. “The amount of money that they made me accept was only a fraction of the damages I have suffered in this lawsuit as a result of their repeated attacks.”
The first alleged incident between Prince and Lanez took place at Miami’s LIV nightclub on November 8, 2019. Prince said he ran into Lanez who attempted to engage in a verbal confrontation before punching him in the face, with the rapper’s security then jumping in and assaulting him.
Prince claimed he suffered “blunt trauma to his neck, chest and back,” along with physical, psychological and mental distress as a result of the incident.
In 2020, Prince said he had another encounter with Tory Lanez at Miami’s Vendome nightclub, where Lanez allegedly punched him in the face again. Lanez argued his actions were in self-defense and denied the allegations.
