The last time the music world received a batch of music from SZA was in 2017, when she released her debut album, CTRL. On Monday (May 25), The TDE artist teased fans with the idea of a “music dump,” which would consist of unreleased music over the last six years.
“So like a music dump .. similar to a photo dump but not an album .. this concept make sense to anyone?” she pondered on Twitter. “Has anyone ever done it? Asking for me.” When asked if she was going the EP route, SZA said she’s aiming for 20 songs. “Nah an Ep is like 4-5 songs .. a music dump would be like 20 from over the Course of the last 6 years,” she responded.
The “Love Galore” singer is even letting fans help handpick the records that they would want to hear. “Okay dead ass THIS IS NOW A COLLECTIVE EFFORT EVERYONE IF U HAVE A SNIPPET IN MIND PLACE IT IN THIS THREAD I DONT REMEMBER ALL OF THEM SO GATHER WHAT U WANT AND ILL SEARCH THE HARDDRIVE TODAY,” she wrote. And if all goes according to plan, SZA hopes to donate the funds received for charity. “Def tryna sell it for charity .. too many ppl hurting to make a dollar rn,” she tweeted.
Besides a potential upcoming “song dump,” SZA has shared some new music. In February, she teamed up with Justin Timberlake for “The Other Side,” which climbed to No. 61 on the Hot 100. Last year, she partnered with The Weeknd and Travis Scott for their mega-collaboration, “Power Is Power,” and DJ Khaled on “Just Us.”
