A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of Chicago drill rapper King Von, who was fatally shot in Atlanta on Friday (Nov. 6).

On Saturday, Atlanta police charged 22-year-old Timothy Leeks with the murder of King Von (born Dayvon Daquan Bennett), The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

“Mr. Leeks is in police custody at Grady Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker told the publication. “The homicide of Bennett is closed with this arrest.”

Billboard has reached out to the Atlanta Police Department for comment.

Bennet, 26, was among three men killed outside of Atlanta’s Monaco Hookah Lounge on Friday. The shootings took place around 3 a.m. when an argument between two groups turned into a fight in the nightclub’s parking lot.

The rapper, who grew up on the South side of Chicago, was known for his sing-song style on tracks such as “Crazy Story” and “What It’s Like.” He was also childhood friends with fellow MCs Lil Durk and Chief Keef.

Following the tragic news of Bennett’s death, hip-hop stars such as Chance the Rapper and Big Sean took to social media to mourn his loss. See their tributes here.
