Soulja Boy isn’t playing on his new song “Squid Game,” which dropped on streaming platforms Thursday (Oct. 14).
Named after the hit Netflix series, Soulja Boy raps over an instrumental of the show’s theme song. He begins the tune, “Red light, green light/ Red light, green light/ You know that I came with my team, right?/ F— n—a play, he get hit with that beam, right/ AR-15 gon’ clear the whole scene, right/ Up in that chop’, n—a/ Something don’t seem right/ Gang, gang, gang/ 762 hit all in the membrane/ Get to poppin’ sh– like the Squid Game.”
He later raps in the chorus, “Squid Game/ We get to poppin’ sh– just like the Squid Game/ Squid Game, Squid Game/ 30, my wrist, it was insane/ Bust down the chain, it was 16/ Slap a n—a likе the Squid Game, Squid Game/ Wе get to poppin’ s–t, insane.”
A day ahead of the “Squid Game” release, Soulja Boy debuted a music video for his track “I Pity the Fool,” which first appeared on his latest album, Swag 4. The 14-song project dropped Sept. 3 via SODMG Records and features G$ and Lil Ronnie.
Swag 4 marks the fourth full-length release from the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper this year, following No Looking Back in August, Big Draco in July and Soulja World in February.
