Tory Lanez sustained life-threatening wounds after being “stabbed 14 times in prison” by another inmate at California Correctional Institution. The attacker inflicted seven stab wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one more to the side of his face.
As a consequence of the assault, Lanez experienced a collapsed lung and required medical intervention, including placement on a ventilator.
Fortunately, his condition has since improved—he is now able to breathe independently and communicate verbally. Medical professionals expect him to make a complete recovery.
So far, prison authorities have not released any statements regarding the incident or whether the attacker has been identified.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence related to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Recently, Megan’s legal team visited him in custody to secure his testimony for an upcoming civil case concerning her “defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Milagro Gramz.”
