ScHoolboy Q‘s passion for golf continues to bring bags to the table as he makes an appearance in Topgolf’s new global campaign.

The company rolled out their ‘Come Play Around’ campaign on Tuesday (November 15) and in addition to Q, it includes appearances from the likes of sports personalities Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Kelly Stafford and more. In a statement, Topgolf expressed their desire to showcase and celebrate inclusivity in the new ad spots.

“Our brand’s core belief is centered around the unlimited power of play, and this campaign was created as a simple invitation to do just that – to come play with us and have some fun,” Chief Brand Officer Geoff Cottrill said. “We are making the game of golf more inclusive and open for all to enjoy, and this campaign celebrates different people and personalities from all over the world coming together and enjoying a little golf… and a little of our ‘not golf.’”

The appearance comes just months after Q made a similar cameo in the new commercial for PGA Tour 2K23 alongside golf legend Tiger Woods. And just before that, the “Collard Greens” rapper was tapped by Nike to star in a commercial detailing Woods’ career.

While taking part in the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California earlier this year, Q detailed how the sport changed his entire mindset.

“Coming from where I come from, the life that I had, I never thought about playing golf,” he said. “I got into it, and it changed my mental, it let me learn myself as a person. Like, this is why certain things in my life are going bad or certain things are going good, because of the attitude thing. It fixed my attitude in life. It fixed a whole lot of things about me in life.

“Life is golf game. Some good shots, some bad shots,” he continued. “But most importantly, keep going because you never know. Don’t give up because you’re in the sand on your fourth shot, you might chip it in. It just taught me a lot about life, you feel me?”

Music is still on the agenda for Q too, though. Groovy Q reemerged in April with the release of his “Soccer Dad” single, produced by Tae Beast, DJ Fu and Skhye Hutch. A new album has been in the works for some time, but no official release date has been set.
