Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike and El-P performed their new album, RTJ4, in its entirety on Adult Swim Saturday (Oct. 17) in an effort to encourage voting in the November election.

The powerful commercial-free event, dubbed “Holy Calamavote,” marked the first live performance of RTJ4, which dropped in June. The televised set featured pre-recorded appearances by Pharrell Williams, 2 Chainz, Zack de la Rocha, Mavis Staples and Josh Homme, all of whom appear as guests on the album.

Comedian Eric Andre hosted the 45-minute broadcast, providing comic relief between the 11 songs performed.

The hip-hop duo kept it strictly to music during the majority of the program, but broke their silence toward the end and encouraged viewers to vote on Nov. 3.

“We believe the last thing that they want you to do is get out of your house and march down in person, mask on and cast your ballot for what you think this country is supposed to be, for what you think this country is supposed to reflect,” El-P said during the closing track “A Few Words for the Firing Squad.” “We want you to go down there. And when you get there, tell them Run the Jewels sent you.”

Killer Mike, who was the first recipient of Billboard’s Change Maker Award at the Billboard Music Awards on Oct. 14, added, “Vote local, vote down the ballot. Vote for your major, judges, prosecutors — for the people looking over your life. Vote the b——s out of office and keep the good folks in.”
