6ix9ine is arguably one of the most entertaining people in rap today. His antics always have people talking, and he puts himself in adverse situations. Every once in awhile, he manages to do a good deed — and his peers are taking notice.

On Monday (April 25), 6ix9ine took to his Instagram account to show fans his latest Good Samaritan act when he handed $50,000 to a struggling family in Mexico. The self-proclaimed King of New York explained he was heading to the airport when he drove past a hut on the side of the road and decided to give the family living there the money, which was equivalent to one million pesos.

Royce Da 5’9 caught wind of the video and re-posted it to salute 6ix9ine for the kind gesture. According to Royce, it doesn’t take a lot for someone deemed controversial to show their humanity: “I don’t care what he is.. This is dope,” Royce wrote.

Not everyone agreed with the Detroit rap legend and claimed 6ix9ine gave the money away for clout. They also dragged him for putting their faces in the clip, allowing people to see who received the large sum of money. Regardless of the criticism, 6ix9ine won’t let that stop him from giving back.

On Sunday (April 24), the “GUMMO” rapper did another humanitarian act by handing out money to a couple selling flowers on the side of the road. 6ix9ine explained he was on the way to the airport (again) when he saw the couple selling flowers.

“I was going to spend 20,000 last night in the club but I didn’t get to do so but I spent it on something better,” he wrote on Instagram. “LETS GET BACK TO IT.”

The Brooklyn native’s recent good deeds came after he had an interview with TMZ and admitted the cash he showed off two weeks ago was prop money.

“That was prop money,” 6ix9ine said. “I ain’t got it. Like I said, I’m an entertainer and obviously we talking about it so I did a pretty good job in entertaining people. You know how you have a degree in law? I have a degree in entertainment.”
