Lil Xan blew up the Twitter timeline earlier this week when a YouTube video of his started making the rounds. In the clip, the 25-year-old rapper claimed his ex-manager, Stat Quo, supplied him with prescription pills as he was in the throes of addiction. But Royce Da 5’9 doesn’t see any honor in publicly outing anyone.
Consequently, the former Slaughterhouse MC has dubbed Lil Xan Hip Hop’s first Karen. For anyone unfamiliar with the pejorative term, a “Karen” is “a white woman perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal. The term is a meme depicting white women who use their privilege to demand their own way,” as defined by Wikipedia.
On Friday (December 31), Royce shared an Instagram photo of Xan and wrote in the caption, “Ladies and Gentlemen I do believe we’ve just witnessed our first Male Karen moment in Hip Hop.” Of course, Royce’s post solicited plenty of comments with producer Sonny Digital writing, “Nah for real” and veteran A&R Dante Ross adding, “He’s super trash.”
Lil Xan attempted to justify his actions in a follow-up Instagram post, explaining he wanted to warn other unsuspecting artists.
“So glad I could finally bring this story to light,” he wrote on Thursday (December 30). “[Am] I putting 100% of the blame on him? no I was a drug addict how could I ! Am I telling you that he was doing nothing but speeding up my drug use by supplying my the very pills that could’ve killed me ? YES ! I’m making this public because I know in my heart this happens way too often and it’s how we end up losing some of the greatest artist way too young.
“These people must answer for there crimes,I remember days on tour my security would have to check on me to see if I was still breathing! But as long as I was medicated enough to get on stage and make that bag for me and the team everything was all good lol what a joke.”
Lil Xan claims Stat Quo would play middle man to get drugs for his former client whenever Xan had withdrawals. He’s now planning to take legal action and bring Stat Quo to court over the drugs and manipulation.
