Rihanna couldn’t be there in person, but she made sure to celebrate her Los Angeles Lakers in a major way on Sunday night (Oct. 11) with a championship-worthy house party to honor LeBron James and the gang’s 2020 NBA title.
Rocking a Kobe Bryant No. 24 jersey, RihRih grabbed a handful of purple and yellow balloons and pompoms and shouted along to Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” singing along to the victory anthem (and flipping a few middle fingers) with a couple of friends at what looked like a an outdoor tailgate party.
“If you ain’t on this time right now…bye,” she wrote. “Lebron remains king Lakers are the champs and Kobe is proud A.D thank you! …Congratulations.”
King James and company vanquished his former team, the Miami Heat, in game six on Sunday night. Sunday night was especially special for the Laker nation, as it marked the first time since 2010 that the city hoisted the NBA champs trophy, back when Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter crash in January, was still the biggest baller in town.
The team’s 17th title ties them with the Boston Celtics for the all-time record and loyal celeb fans from Snoop Dogg to Ice Cube, Flea and Fat Joe could not have been happier.
