Rapper Polo G was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday (Sept. 6) after police found two loaded firearms during a traffic stop.
According to an arrest report from the LAPD, the 22-year-old MC born Taurus Bartlett was stopped by police around 4:30 p.m. PT, during which officers said they recovered two loaded firearms, leading to the arrest of the “Toxic” rapper — whom the report notes was a passenger in the vehicle — and an unnamed male juvenile.
The arrest report does not note why officers pulled the vehicle over, but indicates that two loaded firearms were recovered during the search. Polo G was released on Sept. 7 on $35,000 bond, and is slated to be back in court for the case on Jan. 6, 2022. At press time, it did not appear that Bartlett had reacted to the incident on his social media feeds; a spokesperson for the rapper did not have a comment, and his attorney has not responded to Billboard’s request for comment.
Earlier this summer, Polo G landed his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 when his Hall of Fame album took the top spot during the week ending June 17 after earning 143,000 equivalent album units. A week earlier, the rapper was arrested on charges including battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and criminal mischief in Miami, leading to his jailing on the five charges in the incident.
