Nicki Minaj has shared a touching tribute to her husband Kenneth Petty in honor of their fifth wedding anniversary.
The Young Money rapper marked the special day on Monday (October 21) by posting photos and videos from their journey together on Instagram, including a sweet clip of Petty holding their son Papa Bear as a baby.
In her caption, Nicki expressed: “24 years after we first met. Love at first sight. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for catching me…every single time. Thank you for our little BFF. Dear Ken, Happy 5th Anniversary, Love, Barbie. 10.20.”

The couple first met as teenagers before reconnecting in 2018 after Nicki’s breakup with Meek Mill.
They tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child together a year later.
Despite their seemingly idyllic family life, Petty has faced scrutiny due to his criminal history and gained attention earlier this year when his updated sex offender registry photo went viral on social media.
The 46-year-old’s mugshot was sourced from the Megan’s Law website, which mandates that certain information about sex offenders be publicly accessible.
This site includes Petty’s sex offender status along with details like his birth date, profile description, and the nature of his conviction: “Attempted rape by force or fear.”
Petty was convicted in 1995 for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and served four years in prison.
He was later sentenced to three years’ probation and one year of house detention in 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender in California, where he and Nicki moved in 2019 before their marriage.
Jennifer Hough, the victim of Petty’s assault, has accused Nicki and her husband of harassment related to the incident.
The “Starships” rapper has consistently defended Petty against his conviction and was previously accused of offering Hough $500,000 to publicly retract her claims—an allegation she denies.
Petty has also maintained that he did not rape anyone, asserting that the encounter was consensual, stating in a court filing: “I never raped the Plaintiff and I deny her accusations of rape contained in the Amended Complaint. The sexual encounter between Plaintiff and I, which occurred 27 years ago, was consensual and Plaintiff was a willing participant.”
