From BadGirlRiRi to BillionaireGalRiRi, Rihanna’s peers in the music industry are toasting the wealthiest female musician in the world.
On Wednesday (Aug. 4), Forbes estimated that her highly successful Fenty Beauty brand increased her net worth to $1.7 billion, making her the richest female musician in the world and second richest female entertainer only after Oprah Winfrey, according to Forbes.
Nicki Minaj remixed the lyrics to her Young Money brother Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” underneath a news post about RiRi’s updated wealth status. “A BILLI-ON here, a BILLI-ON there,” the Queen wrote on her Instagram Story. “Little Bajan bih w/green [eyes] – dat bag iz a different size #IfThisDontInspireYou.”
Forbes estimates that the majority of RiRi’s fortune doesn’t come from her music, but from the value of Fenty Beauty, which she launched in 2017 and owns 50% of (which is worth around $1.4 billion). The remainder of her wealth lies in her stake in her Savage x Fenty lingerie brand, which is worth about $270 million, and her earnings as a musician and actress.
Anita Baker reshared Forbes’ tweet on her account while writing, “Fill A Void… Be of Service.” She later echoed one Twitter user’s reply about how RiRi built her wealth across a diverse portfolio of brands and projects. “Lovely to watch her,” the legendary soul singer commented with a gift emoji. “Diversify & FLY.”
