Though we didn’t receive any blockbuster releases today, we have many gems to pick from the litter of new material.

Check out our picks for the best new music from Freddie Gibbs, Lucky Daye, Gucci Mane and more below.

Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo

Last year, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib orchestrated a heist on hip-hop with their masterful opus Bandana. Though Gibbs’ partner-in-crime goes missing in action on Alfredo, Alchemist’s unyielding production leaves fans reassured and more than satisfied. As for Gangsta Gibbs, he’s an uncaged rottweiler with his seething wordplay. “God Is Perfect” finds him test-driving a variety of flows while “Frank Lucas” proves why he and Benny The Butcher are rap’s most beloved menaces on every street corner.

Lucky Daye, Painted (Deluxe Edition)

Lucky Daye’s Cinderella season in 2019 was a fruitful watch. From being homeless to hoisting four Grammy nominations, the talented singer/songwriter sculpted a nearly-perfect debut album with Painted. Back for more, Daye gift wraps fans six new tracks for the project’s deluxe effort. His fun single “Roll Some Mo” receives a royal Caribbean treatment with Chronixx and MediSun on board. The highlight is “Shoulda,” featuring Babyface, a 90s-sounding jam that preaches the value of loyalty.

Quinn XCII, “A Letter to My Younger Self” Featuring Logic

Here’s another feel-good Friday record. Quinn XCII and Logic have teamed up for a reflective, upbeat anthem to cure those feeling depressed and defeated. The jovial MC frees himself from the weighty pressure of being a celebrity to acknowledge the joy of being a dad.

Logic also gives fans a sneak-peek into his upcoming album. “Now my mind stay feeling more 2014, but I’m way more polished 2020 too clean/ Track list done? Yeah, the track list done, but I might just wait till 2021/’Cause I wanna love every single day with my son/So the fans can wait if they know that it’s great,” he raps.

Gucci Mane, “Both Sides” Featuring Lil Baby

Just because Gucci Mane is now a married man with a renewed appreciation for life doesn’t mean he’s one to take lightly. On “Both Sides,” the prolific trap god matches the youthful energy of Lil Baby with his bruising haymakers and slick street talk, rapping: “A real dope boy, I make it flood in any season / While rappers goin’ broke and blame corona as the reason.”

Saint Jhn, “Roses (Remix)” Featuring Future

After winning the dance crowd over with Imanbek’s Remix of “Roses,” Jhn brings the song’s sweltering success to a fever pitch with a trap-infused take of his Hot 100 hit. Jhn and Future are an electric 1-2 combo, bringing their rockstar demeanor to life on the spirited track. Will this help “Roses” hit top 10 territory?

Marlon Craft, “Loved”

Craft’s penchant for soul-stirring anthems continues with the endearing track “Loved.” Looking to remedy the heartaches and uncertainty caused by quarantine, the Hell’s Kitchen MC gives a bearhug to those in dire need of affection. Craft even pens a poignant letter to his future son on the song’s first verse in hopes of scrubbing away any questions he may have later on in life.
