NBA YoungBoy continues to stand by Kanye West as he’s shown love to the polarizing artist in a new song snippet.
One of YB’s affiliates previewed the track on Instagram Love over the weekend, and it finds the Baton Rouge native sampling Ye’s 2010 anthem “Power,” which served as the lead single from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
“RIP to the Donda, now I’m the biggest scholar,” he raps. “I got my own playlist, I say Kanye’s better.”
Akademiks reposted the preview on Instagram and there were mixed reviews in his comments section from listeners.
“He was going to off, then he started talking on the beat again,” one person wrote, while another said: “We listening to the same thing? This hard!”
A separate comment read: “Yb was like my favorite rapper fr how he fall off so hard?”

This isn’t the first time that NBA YoungBoy has waxed poetic about Kanye West. He previously laid out his support for Yeezy last December on “This Not a Song, This For My Supporters.”
“And, it hurt my heart that Kanye let them people break his soul/ How the fuck that go? N-gga, stay in yo’ home!/ N-gga, hold your ground! You strong,” he rapped on the track.

The song dropped around the time various brands — and even fellow artists — were distancing themselves from Kanye following his antisemitic remarks and praise for Adolf Hitler.
“Genius does not mean smart,” Questlove wrote on Twitter (now X) at the time in response to Ye’s controversial comments. His post was reshared on Instagram by The Shade Room, where Jamie Foxx also criticized his “Slow Jamz” collaborator.
“Say it louder for the people in the back,” Foxx wrote. “But for whatever reason we keep giving these so-called geniuses the microphone.”
NBA YoungBoy returned last week with his new album Decided 2. The 18-track project features just a sole guest appearance from Rod Wave on the track “Better Than Ever” — much to the displeasure of YB’s Baton Rouge rival Fredo Bang.
