NBANBA YoungBoy‘s legal woes have gone from bad to worse after the rapper was arrested on multiple charges while serving house arrest in Utah.
According to jail records obtained by HipHopDX, the Baton Rouge native (real name Kentrell Gaulden) was booked into Cache County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday evening (April 16).

He has been charged with a string of weapons, drug and fraud charges including: pattern of unlawful activity; procuring or attempting to procure drug/prescription; identity fraud; forgery; possession of other controlled substances; and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.

No bail has been set.

YoungBoy has been confined to his Salt Like City mansion since late 2021 after being indicted in his native Louisiana on charges of “felon in possession of a firearm.”

The 24-year-old, who was previously convicted in 2017 of aggravated assault with a weapon, was allegedly found with two guns during a September 2020 music video shoot in Baton Rouge.

He was later arrested on those charges in Los Angeles following a brief chase. Another gun was found in his car during that arrest, leading to a similar case brought against him by federal prosecutors in California.

In 2022, YoungBoy was acquitted on those charges but is still awaiting trial in Louisiana over the original indictment.

The rapper’s alleged drug habit was cited in a filing by federal prosecutors in February, which accused him of violating the terms of his house arrest by “us[ing] or unlawfully possess[ing] a narcotic drug or other controlled substance.”

U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. further claimed that YoungBoy had “informed his supervising officer that he has no intentions to discontinue using the substance that resulted in the violation.”

The Last Slimeto MC has concerned fans in recent months with various social media posts that point to an apparent substance abuse problem.

Earlier this year, he posted a photo on Instagram showing him laid on the floor with a vacant look in his eyes next to a bottle of prescription pills and a Styrofoam cup full of what appears to be lean.

He captioned the alarming image: “& that’s why I don’t pick up my phone when it ring.”

In a December 2023 interview with Bootleg Kev, however, YoungBoy claimed that the perception of him being a heavy drug user was inaccurate.

“I went to rehab for a weekend recently,” he revealed. “I still get an image that I do a lot of drugs, so I kind of get that thrown in my face like ‘Oh, this taking over his mind’ or something at the same time … And now I’m kind of taking on just therapy from now on.”
