Mustard and YG are taking their talents into the restaurant business. The West Coast tandem has earned an equity stake in the Fishbone Seafood restaurants and will be teaming up with Postmates to donate $100,000 worth in food to residents within the Los Angeles area.

“I met one of the owners at a gas station, and he told me we should do business,” YG said. “I called Mustard and told him about the opportunity, and he was ready to go.”

For Mustard, he hopes his latest venture will supply much-needed opportunities to minorities who have been affected by COVID-19. “COVID-19 has hit Black and Brown communities the hardest,” he says. “YG and I have not forgotten where we come from, and feel a duty to support those who are less fortunate and have been our biggest supporters from the beginning.”

In honor of Juneteenth and the second annual Mustard Day, Mustard and YG will partner with Postmates to deliver $50,000 worth of food to communities within the delivery radius. Participating Fishbone restaurants will provide healthy alternatives named after the rappers, such as The Mustard Plate (grilled shrimp and filet sole with sautéed veggies) and The YG Plate (grilled filet sole with sautéed veggies.)

Next week, the other $50,000 in meals will be delivered to several L.A. organizations, including A New Way of Life, Hollywood Food Coalition, Midnight Mission, Watts Empowerment Center, Upward Bound House and five St. John’s Well Child and Family clinics.
