With the pandemic taking away opportunities like open mics and in-person recording session from emerging, Jägermeister is launching a new program titled “Meister Class” to help creatives work alongside established stars Mustard, Smino, and EarthGang.

The new series will allow creatives to showcase their talents on a digital platform, with Smino and EarthGang choosing which participants will get a chance to collaborate with them on their respective tracks. Once the songs are announced, participants can go to the Meisterclass site to showcase their musical highlights — such as songs, videos, performances, etc. After the collaborations are released, Mustard will join in on the activities and serve as the “Meister,” where he will mentor the rising acts on original music due out in December.

“2020 has been a tough year; however, there are still opportunities, like what Jägermeister’s ‘Meister Class’ sessions are offering, for emerging and unknown artists to have their music heard,” Mustard tells Billboard on his involvement in the series.

“If you’re serious about getting in the music business, check out this program, and submit your work!” Smino adds, “Most of my favorite songs are usually by artists who aren’t the mainstream thing at the time. So my [partners] Jägermeister and I linked up to give an emerging artist the chance to collaborate with me on a track.”

Artists’ collaborative sessions will be promoted on Jägermeister’s social channels, while the winning participants will also join the lead artists on an Instagram Live on Jägermeister’s Instagram.

“At Jägermeister, music is at the core of who we are,” says Cliff Rigano, director of culture, lifestyle & event marketing at Mast-Jägermeister U.S. “We felt that it was imperative to continue to create opportunities to foster the creativity and passion that is still flourishing even during these trying times. Music is what keeps us all together, even while we’re all physically apart. We’re absolutely thrilled to see this program come to life and look forward to engaging with all of the participating talents.”
