Just in time for back to school, Megan Thee Stallion schooled her haters on her latest “Outta Town” freestyle that she dropped Thursday (Aug. 12).
The 26-year-old rapper posted a one-minute, 20-second snippet of herself bring “re-inspired by” a beat from her producer Lil Ju and dropping some heat before the summer comes to a close. Meg shows off where’s she’s spitting these new bars in the accompanying video, showcasing a luxe mansion where Meg moves from dropping heat on the mic to soaking up the sun by the pool and twerking in the fisheye-lens camera.
Some fan-favorite lines (as retweeted by Meg herself) include: “bi—es buy one little purse and think we Prada them” for those who need a reminder that Meg is in her bag; “your vocab don’t go past ‘period,’ ho, don’t question me” for those who need a quick refresher before English class; and “Megan is a force so you know I need two pair” for those who don’t know how to dress fly.
In her new Essence cover story that also came out Thursday, the “Savage” artist recalled her old days of joining all-male cyphers and standing out with her sex-positive bars.
“Being in Houston, in Texas in general, I feel like getting in a circle and freestyling is just what we do,” she said in the new interview. “It doesn’t matter where you at, who you with, somebody is going to do a rap battle. I would see boys together and they would be rapping, so in my head, this is what you do. I wanted to make sure I was always sharp and I could do it.”
