On Wednesday night, July 16, in New York City, Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson appeared together for the first time on a red carpet during the Houston Hottie’s first-ever Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala.
The rapper and the NBA player walked the red carpet and even kissed before posing for photographers. Although she didn’t specify when or how they first connected, Megan spoke highly of Thompson.
“I have never dated somebody so kind,” Meg told Page Six. “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.”
She added: “I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”
In an interview with Billboard, the Grammy winner talked about how individuals can help support their own neighborhoods.
“I feel like, first of all, you need to know what your community needs,” she started. “Like if you’re in an underserved community … I feel like you could put together some things at a local school because kids are the first ones that need the help. I feel like you could figure out what the elderly in your community needs.”
The event brought in more than $1.2 million to support initiatives related to education, housing, and health services.
Taraji P. Henson, Lil Uzi Vert, Fat Joe, Muni Long, DJ D-Nice, Angie Martinez, and Dara Mirjahangiry, the founder of Sei Less, were among the high-profile guests that evening.
During the auction led by Harry Santa-Olalla, Klay Thompson bought two Super Bowl tickets for $50,000, and Lil Uzi Vert purchased a diamond Eliantte bracelet for $30,000.
The couple’s relationship has quickly gained attention. Fans noticed the basketball player in the background of one of Megan’s Instagram posts earlier in July.
Thompson added to the speculation by posting pictures from a Bahamas vacation with Megan on his Instagram, effectively confirming their relationship. Megan also uploaded, then removed, a TikTok clip that appeared to show her opening Labubus products while sitting on Klay’s lap.
