Atlanta, GA – Lil Yachty has fired back at allegations made by Guven’s Fine Jewelry, which accused of him not paying for $233,000 worth of jewelry in a recent lawsuit. Lil Boat refuted claims of him writing a $70,000 check and took issue with fans thinking he’s broke.
“The crazy shit is any jeweler will tell you I don’t play around with my jewelry, bro,” he said in an Instagram Live video. “I woke up to a nigga saying that I went… I can’t even say the B-word, bro.”
Yachty then detailed his side of the story in his dispute with Guven’s Fine Jewelry. According to him, the $70,000 check came from his mother. He also accused Guven of overpricing the jewelry, which led to him not paying.
“I’ve paid Jon [Guven] over $900,000 and I got receipts because I don’t carry cash,” he explained. “I pay everything with credit and checks. So in the case that I wrote him a $70,000 check, first off, I don’t write checks. My momma writes checks. I never wrote that man a check ever in my life. My mother wrote him a check a year ago for something that she was doing out of her bank account. And she spelled his name wrong on the check.”
Yachty continued, “So, my mom wired him [money] and never worried about the check. Now when we got into it and he said that I owed him for something that I felt like I didn’t owe him for because he overpriced me on it, and then I never paid on that, he went and took that check my mother wrote him from a year ago with the name messed up and tried to cash it.
“Now, out of her account, nigga that’s my mother. I got the money, not my moms, nigga … And then he tried to throw it on me and make it seem like I wrote a check. Nigga, I don’t write no fucking check. I ain’t never wrote no check to nobody … My mom write checks. That’s cap!”
Lil Boat concluded his rant by asserting he would take legal action against Guven for damaging his reputation.
“Y’all niggas really believe anything y’all fucking see,” he said. “And I promise you gonna hear about it, bro. And he gon’ hear from me, for sure, with all kinds of legal allegations. Because it’s cap, bro. That’s slandering a nigga’s name. Throwing dirt, lying on someone’s name.
“That’s lame, bro. Especially for clout. That is not cool, bro. It’s one thing you feel like I owe you. You take it to court. I got my receipts. We can do it that way, bro. But don’t make shit up.”
Check out details about the lawsuit below.
Lil Yachty has been accused of skipping out on a $233,000 bill for some bling.
According to Bossip, Guven’s Fine Jewelry has sued Lil Boat for breach of contract after he allegedly didn’t pay the six figures he owes for several pieces. The jeweler also claims he sent a $70,000 check that bounced.
Guven has been providing jewels to Yachty since 2017. Under their agreement, he would reportedly pay for the ones he decided to keep. According to the suit, Lil Boat paid for more than half of a $600,000 total he racked up for 20 pieces. But the payments have stopped with his last check bouncing.
Yachty has been accused of refusing to return the jewelry, which Guven demanded back. The Georgia-based jeweler claims the Quality Control rapper admits he owes them money but is making excuses for why he can’t pay.
“Bro if I had it I would give it to you,” he allegedly wrote in a text message. “I’m not gone hold u (sic) out if I had it just to give. I have had many bills to pay. Taxes, debt, etc… All that money went instantly. The teeth I just got I traded jewelry for.”
Guven has run into some trouble with members of the Quality Control roster before. The jeweler also sued Offset for failing to pay for $359,490 worth of jewelry.
Yachty hasn’t responded to the lawsuit as of October 28. Guven is seeking Lil Boat’s $233,000 debt plus damages and lawyer’s fees.
