Lil Xan Says ‘You Can’t Snitch If You’re Not A Fucking Gang Member’ – & TDE’s Punch Has Questions

Lil Xan has been vocal about his struggles with substance abuse in recent months. But last week, he took it to another level when he alleged his former manager, Stat Quo, provided with him prescription pills at the height of his addiction. His admission caused a divide among his fans (and haters), with some calling him a “snitch” and others applauding him for coming forward.

In a recent Instagram Live video, Lil Xan said it’s impossible for him to be labeled a rat because he isn’t affiliated with any gangs.

“It’s like half are saying, ‘Yo, thank God you are spreading the word,’” he said. “And the other half is, ‘Oh, you’re a snitch now, bro. He didn’t make you do that.’ All this stuff. Like, bro, I’m not a gang banger.”

He added, “I’m a civilian. How am I a snitch? Did I go to court and rat on my gang? I don’t have a gang. You can’t snitch if you’re not a fucking gang member, bro. Miss me with that. I’m trying to help other artists, particularly in my same similar situation, not die or go down the same path and get in bad deals.”

Lil Xan claimed he was considering legal action against Stat Quo in his original YouTube video, saying, “He’s gonna act like he didn’t do that, like a fuckin’ hypocrite, and I’m really feeling like I should take him to court. Because that was a time I almost died from the drugs. I was so skinny, unhealthy.”

In a follow-up tweet, the 24-year-old rapper insisted he wasn’t blaming Stat Quo entirely and was thinking of the bigger picture.

“[I’m] I putting 100% of the blame on him?” he wrote. “No I was a drug addict how could I! Am I telling you that he was doing nothing but speeding up my drug use by supplying my the very pills that could’ve killed me? YES! I’m making this public because I know in my heart this happens way too often and it’s how we end up losing some of the greatest artist way too young.”

But Top Dawg Entertainment president Punch has some questions. On Sunday (January 2), Punch took his curiosity to Twitter and asked, “This Lil Xanax things is interesting. I’m definitely not insensitive to addiction and everything that it brings, but I’m curious, how much of an artist personal life is a manager responsible for??”

He added, “Such irony. Cause some of the greatest music we all love was made under the influence of drugs.”

Lil Xan got candid about his drug addiction during an interview with 60 Minutes in August 2021, admitting he was “taking enough benzos to take down an elephant.”

He continued, “I was probably taking…12 two milligrams to 14 two milligrams a day. I was really bad. It was really bad … I looked in the mirror and I’m like — it was just that moment you know, like, if I keep doing this, I’m gonna die soon. So I just quit, cold turkey. And I actually ended up having a few seizures. And I landed in the hospital.”

The XANARCHY artist appears to be on a better path and is using his platform to inform people about the dangers of prescription drug use.
