It looks like we are inches closer to the release of Lil Uzi Vert’s hotly-anticipated Eternal Atake album. On Sunday (March 1), fans breathed a sigh of relief when the Philly MC unleashed his newest single “That Way.”
An ode to the 1999 Backstreet Boys single “I Want It That Way,” Uzi seamlessly interpolates the popular hook onto his latest earworm. Hopscotching his way through the Supah Mario-produced beat, Uzi is in element, spraying lighthearted bars over the breezy track like “I had to snap back into reality and go grab a fitted” and “she gave me dome ’til I graduate.”
As avid Uzi fans gleefully celebrated his new record, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter gushed over the rapper’s use of the group’s Hot 100 chart-topper. “OMG ! Freaking LOVE @LILUZIVERT now you’re gonna have to be featured on our next album bud,” wrote Carter on Twitter.
