Lil Tjay has been hospitalized after being shot in the early hours of Wednesday morning (June 22) in Edgewater, New Jersey. According to TMZ, the Bronx rapper is currently undergoing major surgery.
Tjay’s condition is currently unknown, but TMZ reports the shooting took place at two locations — a Chipotle Restaurant and nearby Exxon Gas station — shortly after midnight on Wednesday. A second victim was injured in the shoot-out, although their identity has yet to be revealed.

Police are currently investigating the shooting and the suspects remain at large. A motive is not yet known.
Frequent collaborator and fellow Bronx native French Montana sent prayers to Tjay after learning about the tragic situation.
“Pray for my lil bro Lil Tjay,” he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Lil Tjay moved to Los Angeles during the pandemic and revisited the East Coast from time to time. The 21-year-old teamed up with Kaash Paige for her “24 Hrs” single, which received the visual treatment in May.
