With his latest LP teaser, Lil Nas X is just about ready to point into the audience, shouting “You get an album! And you get an album! Everybody gets an album!”
In a new Instagram post, Lil Nas X unveiled a makeshift trailer of sorts for something called The Montero Show. The new clip sees Nas dressed in a long wig and full white suit on the set of his faux talk show, interviewing himself while pregnant. The clip sees Lil Nas X’s new host persona laughing it up with an invisible crowd, getting into an emotional conversation with himself and, eventually, flipping off the camera.
In a message appearing at the end of the clip and in his caption, Lil Nas X lets fans know to watch The Montero Show at 11 p.m. ET on Thursday — just one hour before his album Montero officially drops first thing Friday. “BE SURE TO CATCH THE PREMIERE OF THE MONTERO SHOW, ON YOUTUBE TOMORROW NIGHT AT 11PM EST,” he wrote.
The Montero Show comes as the latest in a string of hilarious marketing schemes Lil Nas has cooked up to promote his new album. In the last few weeks, the rapper has announced a faux pregnancy, registered for baby gifts, and even went as far as throwing himself a baby shower shortly after his star-turning stints at the VMAs and the Met Gala.
