Lil Nas X and Lizzo were some of the big winners at the 2020 Grammys Awards. So how did the two breakout music stars celebrate the coveted honors? By going to the strip club, of course.

During a virtual visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday (Jan. 8), Lil Nas recalled his “crazy night” out with Lizzo after taking home two Grammys for his record-breaking hit “Old Town Road.”

When Fallon asked the 21-year-old rapper about the most memorable part of Grammy night, he casually replied, “Probably when I went to the strip club with Lizzo. That was a pretty great time. They were playing our songs and stripping. It was a crazy night.”

“Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and recently became the longest leader of all time on the Streaming Songs chart. It’s also the highest certified song ever by the Recording Industry Association of America. “Old Town Road” won Grammys for best pop duo/group performance and best music video.

Last year’s Grammys were also a huge celebration for Lizzo, who took home three trophies, including best pop solo performance for her powerhouse hit “Truth Hurts.”

During his Fallon interview, Lil Nas — whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill — also discussed the origins of his stage name.

“I didn’t use Montero as my stage name because Nas is my Internet alias,” he explained. “When I started doing music, I was like, ‘I want to have fun with this.’ Every new rapper was named Lil, Lil, Lil — what if I was Lil Nas? Ha, ha, ha, that would be funny. So I was like, ‘Alright, bet. I’ll be Lil Nas.’ I added the X later on.”

The rapper, who appeared on the late-night show to discuss his new children’s book, C Is for Country, also gave fans an update on what to expect from his new album.

“It’s all about sex and nothing else,” he said, before quickly adding, “I’m kidding. It’s about all the things I’ve been experiencing, like pre-fame and after and what I expect to be experiencing.”

Lil Nas, who has been working on the upcoming release for about two years, didn’t give an official release date for the set, but says it will arrive sometime in 2021.
