Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s collaboration, “Industry Baby,” ascends to No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart. The track climbs from No. 2 to lead the list dated Sept. 25 as it improves 16% in plays in the week ending Sept. 19 to become the week’s most played song nationwide on the radio format, according to MRC Data.

The new champ gives Lil Nas X his third Rhythmic Airplay No. 1. It follows his breakout smash, “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which reigned for three weeks in 2019, and “Panini,” a one-week leader later that year.

For Harlow, “Industry Baby” adds a second No. 1 to his roster. He, too, first visited the summit with his debut release, “What’s Poppin,” and its remix featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne that ruled for one week last year.

“Industry Baby” appears on Lil Nas X’s first full-length studio album, Montero, released Sept. 17. The set, which also includes the hit single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” and “Sun Goes Down,” will arrive on Billboard charts next week.

Beyond its Rhythmic coronation, “Industry Baby” continues to make inroads in the pop and R&B/hip-hop spheres. On the Pop Airplay chart, the single cracks the top 10 for the first time (up 11-7) thanks to a 14% improvement in plays in the week ending Sept. 19. On Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop, meanwhile, the collaboration repeats at its No. 19 peak thus far for a second week, though it added 5% more plays in the latest tracking week.

Gains across all three formats — pop, rhythmic and R&B/hip-hop — fuel the song’s advance on the all-genre Radio Songs chart. There, “Industry Baby” climbs 13-12 to a new best on the audience-based ranking. The song gained 16% to 40.7 million audience impressions in the latest tracking week, which ended Sept. 17.
