While everyone at the 2021 Grammy Awards on Sunday night was the epitome of Tiffany “New York” Pollard’s “Beyoncé?!” meme when the superstar arrived, Lil Baby was more focused on meeting Jay-Z.

The 26-year-old rapper, who performed his Grammy-nominated song “The Bigger Picture” at Sunday’s awards show, took to Twitter after the ceremony to tell the story of how he met the hip-hop’s heavyweight. “I met jay z,” he wrote while throwing up a celebratory hands-up emoji. “He let the security walk with bey an he walked by his self. Boss sh–.”

Hov was definitely on his boss sh– last night, picking up his 23rd Grammy Award for best rap song as a co-writer on “Savage,” performed by his wife and Megan Thee Stallion.

Beyoncé made herstory after picking up four awards — best music video, best rap song, best rap performance and best R&B performance — to bring her total to 28, pulling ahead of Alison Krauss (27 Grammys) to break the record for most Grammys won by a woman (and vocalist of any gender). She now ties Quincy Jones as the living person with the most Grammys. Not to mention, her and Jay’s 9-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter won her first Grammy for best music video alongside her mother and WizKid for the “Brown Skin Girl” visual, becoming the second-youngest winner in Grammy history.

Even if Lil Baby didn’t take home any Grammys last night, the ATL rapper delivered a powerful performance that brought attention to police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement alongside guest stars Insecure actor Kendrick Sampson, activist Tamika Mallory and rapper Killer Mike. And speaking of star-studded features, Lil Baby’s guest verse on Drake’s “Wants and Needs” warrants him his highest-charting hit and sixth top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with a No. 2 debut this week (dated March 20).
