LeBron James has continued to express his support for Kendrick Lamar, seemingly in response to Drake’s recent jab at him.

On Wednesday (February 5), LeBron hyped up Kendrick’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance by sharing a clip of his past appearance at the 2022 Super Bowl, where he performed during Dr. Dre’s star-studded set.

“He gone kill that [poo emoji]!!!! Can’t wait *Bart Scott voice,” the basketball icon wrote, referencing the former NFL player and current sports analyst.

LeBron, who was once close friends with Drake before the feud with Kendrick started last year, has recently been the target of several insults from the Canadian rapper.

During the opening show of his Anita Max Win Tour in Australia earlier this week, Drake subtly altered the lyrics of his song “Nonstop” to take a dig at the Los Angeles Laker.

In the original 2018 version, Drake referenced LeBron with the line: “How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m LeBron?”

However, during his concert in Perth, he changed the lyric to: “How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron, man?”

Before that, Drake seemed to voice his frustrations with LeBron (and possibly others, including NBA player DeMar DeRozan) in his song “Fighting Irish Freestyle.”

The title of the track, which refers to LeBron’s high school team, appeared to address the four-time NBA champion’s support of Kendrick and his appearance at Kendrick’s Pop Out concert last summer.

“The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets / Seemed like they loved every minute / Just know this shit is personal to us, and it wasn’t just business,” he rapped.

LeBron has not yet directly responded to the song, though he did seem to extend an olive branch to Drake after attending Kendrick’s concert.

In an Instagram Story post from last August, LeBron shared a photo of himself wearing The Boy’s Nike Air Force One sneakers, with “Love you forever” written on them. He also included an infinity symbol emoji in the image.
