Kodak Black is celebrating his freedom with some new music.
On Saturday (Jan. 23), less than a week after his last-minute pardon by former President Donald Trump, the 23-year-old rapper shared his first post-prison song, “Last Day In.” The appropriately titled track finds Kodak reflecting on his return home and referencing his commuted sentence.
“Trump just freed me, but my favorite president is on the money/ All they hatin’ presidents has become evident to me,” he raps on the breezy song.
During his last full day in office on Jan. 19, Trump pardoned more than 100 people, including Kodak, Lil Wayne and Death Row Records’ Michael “Harry-O” Harris.
Kodak was in federal prison after pleading guilty to a firearms possession charge after being detainment at the Canadian-American border in March 2020. He still faces potential prison time after being indicted on a felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly forcing himself onto a woman in 2016.

Following his prison release, Kodak thanked Trump on Twitter for commuting his 46-month sentence.
“I Want To Thank The President @RealDonaldTrump For His Commitment To Justice Reform And Shortening My Sentence. I Also Want To Thank Everyone For Their Support And Love,” the rapper wrote. “It Means More Than You Will Ever Know. I Want To Continue Giving Back, Learning And Growing.”
