King Von’s family released an official statement Wednesday (Nov. 18), nearly two weeks after the Chicago-bred drill rapper was fatally shot at an Atlanta nightclub.

V.Roy of 100K Management, which had Von on its roster, issued the statement on behalf of the late rapper’s family and team on social media along with a picture of him and his young children.

“Thank you to everyone who has showed their outpouring of love for King Von. You all played a massive role in Von’s accomplishments, and by continuing to play his music and sharing your stories about how he has inspired and influenced you all, you’re keeping his legacy alive,” Von’s family and team’s statement read.

The post continues, “To celebrate Von’s artistry, vision, and the immense love that he had for his fans, we will be continuing his roll out of Welcome to O’Block, while working to share unreleased music and interviews that he devoted his creativity into completing. Von had also been working on new endeavors that we will be announcing down the line. Love, Von’s family and team.”

King Von (real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett) and two others died after being shot outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta around 3 a.m. on Nov. 6. He was 26.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Atlanta police charged 22-year-old Timothy Leeks with murder in Von’s fatal shooting.

His debut album Welcome to O’Block debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 last week (chart dated Nov. 14). The project moved 44,000 equivalent album units (up 69%) this week, raising it to the No. 5 seed on the tally this week. He also posthumously received his career-first Billboard Hot 100 hits this week with four different titles: “Took Her to the O,” “The Code,” featuring Polo G, “All These N—as,” feat.
