New York, NY – Tekashi 6ix9ine may be plotting a comeback, but it might not be as simple as he thinks. According to TMZ, the currently incarcerated rapper has lost the support of one of New York City’s biggest Hip Hop radio stations — Hot 97.

A Hot 97 executive reportedly said when 6ix9ine is released from prison, the station likely won’t play any of his new songs and doesn’t “anticipate” supporting his music at all.

The exec reportedly wasn’t a fan to begin with and 6ix9ine’s role as government star witness in the case against alleged Nine Trey gang members Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack has made his reputation with the station worse.

6ix9ine has been behind bars since last November. During his testimony last month, he admitted he’d agreed to cooperate with the feds only one day after his arrest in hopes of a lighter sentence. Although he was originally facing at least 47 years in prison, his cooperation could get him out as soon as early 2020.

The rap community is not amused. Snoop Dogg, The Game and Ice-T are among the many who have criticized the 23-year-old for “snitching.”

In an interview with HipHopDX, Ice-T explained, “He stepped in some shit that he ain’t going to be able to get off his shoe. It’s not going to go away.”

6ix9ine is expected to be sentenced on December 18.
