Kendrick Lamar has recently been seen entering a recording studio in New York’s West Village, fueling speculation about new music in the works. Although details remain under wraps, his collaborator on “TV Off,” Lefty Gunplay, mentioned in an interview with Bootleg Kev that a deluxe version of GNX may be on the horizon, emphasizing that Lamar is “very secretive” and still has “some stuff in the chamber.”

While Lamar seems to be preparing for future releases, GNX continues to enjoy major chart success, despite its initial release last November. His duet with SZA, “Luther,” has maintained the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive eleven weeks. This achievement ties it with Diddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You” as the duet by co-billed solo male and female artists with the most weeks at the top.

The GNX album also remains strong on the Billboard 200, currently sitting at number three. Beyond music, Lamar is also building his presence in the fashion world. He has partnered with Chanel to become the face of their eyewear line. Lamar, who has previously collaborated with major brands such as Nike, Converse, and Louis Vuitton, said: “Chanel has a timeless legacy and that is always something I can get behind. Since they don’t make clothes for men, I knew it would have to be glasses,” according to The Business of Fashion.

Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s fashion president, highlighted the brand’s investment in eyewear, describing it as more than just an accessory and a core part of the “Chanel allure.” The partnership traces back to Lamar’s 2023 Met Gala appearance in a custom Chanel jacket and continued when he and creative partner Dave Free produced a short film for Chanel’s spring/summer 2024 collection.

In addition to his ventures in music and fashion, Lamar is also involved in a film project with South Park creators Trey Stone and Matt Parker.
