NEW YORK, NY – Kenan Thompson was a recent guest on Late Night With Seth Meyers to talk about his 16th season on Saturday Night Live. During the conversation, he addressed the “circus” that unfolded on Saturday (September 29) with musical guest Kanye West.
In particular, Meyers asked him about the pro-Trump rant Kanye delivered following the show.
“He voiced his opinion very loudly and for a long time,” Thompson said. “I don’t know if that’s the moment necessarily to hold people hostage like that. But hey, you know. … I felt so bad for those guys. Because it’s hard to stand there and not be able to debate somebody who’s going so far against your personal opinion.”
Thompson admitted he was relieved he decided to “exit” prior to YE’s diatribe.

Fans were waiting on Kanye’s Yandhi album to drop that same night, but he failed to deliver. On Monday (October 1), wife Kim Kardashian announced the project’s release date was pushed to November 23.
Kanye explained to TMZ he was going to Africa with his “alien YE” alter ego to finish the album.
