Kanye West Hints at “Yandhi” Release Amid Streaming Debut of “DONDA 2”

Kanye West has revealed his intention to finally unveil Yandhi, an album that had previously never seen an official release.

The project was initially expected in 2018 but was later transformed into his gospel-influenced album Jesus is King. Despite this, various versions and unfinished tracks from Yandhi have been leaked online over time.

Several songs from the original Yandhi era, like “Hurricane” and “We Got Love,” found homes on other albums. One track, “New Body,” was planned to appear on Vultures, though it was ultimately left off after Nicki Minaj declined to approve her part.

During a recent livestream from Spain, West made it clear he still has plans for the album, stating: “We gotta release Yandhi.”

This update follows the news that West has, for the first time, officially released DONDA 2 on major streaming services earlier this week.

Although the album initially launched in February 2022, it bypassed traditional platforms. At that time, listeners could only access the music by purchasing a Stem Player device.

Interestingly, DONDA 2 hasn’t been uploaded under West’s usual Spotify account, but rather through a newly created artist profile named DONDA.

The streaming version largely mirrors the Stem Player release but includes a few key changes.

One notable omission is “Eazy,” a controversial track featuring The Game, which has been removed. In its place, a new collaboration with Future called “Mr Miyagi” appears, also including vocals from Playboi Carti.

The song “530,” which had appeared in a rough form on Vultures 2 with Ty Dolla $ign, has now been refined by West for the final DONDA 2 version.

The album also contains an emotional monologue from Akademiks, taken from a livestream in which he accuses Kim Kardashian of stopping West from seeing their children.

Despite the former couple’s highly publicized disputes, Kardashian’s voice is still part of the album. On the track “Scifi,” she says: “I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he is the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.”

This clip originates from Kardashian’s 2021 hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live.
