Joe Budden has mocked Drake for attempting to intimidate DeMar DeRozan during a recent NBA game between the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings.
On his podcast, Budden ridiculed Drake’s tough-guy behavior throughout the game, where he was seen giving DeRozan dirty looks and trash-talking the former Raptors player (who had starred in the music video for Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us”).
“I’m not mad at him — he should feel a way. It’s never the conflict, it’s the inability to navigate conflict,” Budden said. “What he did with the conflict is where I’m like, ‘Ehhhh.’”
“All that standing at the game, the ice grilling, the face, the mumbling under the breath. We’re n-ggas and we’re respectful so we not gonna say it… but you a b-tch! [laughs].”
The former Slaughterhouse rapper continued: “He went to the game and cut his eyes. Ooh, these are the duck lips of death! Talk about duck tales. Yo, don’t come to my game and cut eyes at me, my n-gga. I’ll throw this ball at you.”

Joe Budden says Drake is a b*tch for staring down DeMar DeRozan at the Raptors game after the Not Like Us video cameo

Budden also touched on DeRozan’s widely discussed appearance in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video: “I think that Drake takes ‘Not Like Us’ really, really serious, as he should. I think a lot of West Coast people just took a West Coast pride in that song.”
“I don’t think some people take that song as seriously as him… Maybe [DeRozan] didn’t look at it as a crossing of the line.”
Despite his appearance in the video and a cameo at Kendrick’s Pop Out concert, DeRozan has maintained that he has no issue with Drake.
In July, he told the Sacramento Bee: “Drake’s still my man, none of it changed. It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it’s music, entertainment.”
“Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint, and they battled it out.”
Drake, who is a global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, has also faced ridicule from Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé for his actions toward DeRozan.
During the Kings’ 122-107 win over the Raptors earlier this week, Ranadivé was seen courtside wearing a sweatshirt that simply read: “They Not Like Us.”
