J. Cole announced Monday (Sept. 27) that his second-ever Dreamville Festival will take place over two days in April 2022. For the first time since its official debut in 2019, Dreamville Fest is expanding to a two-day format from April 2-3, 2022.

It will take place at Dorothy Dix Park in Raleigh, N.C. The 2019 edition of Dreamville Fest, with more than 40,000 attendees and performances by SZA, 6LACK, Big Sean, Nelly and more, was the only one to have taken place since the 2020 fest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s exciting to finally be back. Ever since we wrapped our first fest, we’ve been waiting to get back to the park with our Dreamville family,” said Adam Roy, Dreamville partner and festival president, in a statement. “We had to come back bigger and better than before. With the fest moving to two days, Dreamville Festival is about to become the festival our team has always dreamt about. We want this to grow into one of the premier annual music experiences in the country.”

EarthGang’s WowGr8 shared the news in a local segment spoof, where the Atlanta rapper took on the roles of an anchor, meteorologist and sports reporter. “After three long years of struggling… Dreamville Fest is back. And it’s two days!” he announced, later joking, “This will be the festival’s fourth year despite only having one actual appearance. Truly, the world’s most resilient festival.”

WowGr8 also revealed what apocalyptic odds Dreamville Fest would be up against, considering the pandemic completely derailed the second festival along with the entire live music industry. “The only thing that’ll stop this Dreamville Fest from happening is a swarm of locusts, an earthquake, or the return of the ancient mummy,” he said. The EarthGang member also advised attendees to purchase a fictional “Dreamville Survival Pack,” containing an inflatable raft, gas mask, Backwoods and more.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. ET at DreamvilleFest.com. Fans who signed up for the official Dreamville Festival newsletter, available at the festival’s official website, will be able to access a special ticket pre-sale on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET.
