Atlanta’s Homixide Gang have released their long-anticipated album Homixide Lifestyle 2.
Released on August 1 through Opium/Interscope Records, the 25-song collection builds on Meechie and Beno!’s intense rage-rap style, while showing growth and a more polished sound. Contributions on the album include Ken Carson on “PB&J” and Destroy Lonely on “Shopping Bags,” both signed to the same label. Other guest features include Homixide Mali on “Sober” and R5 Homixide on “GVNGANATI.”
The project showcases production from some of the biggest names, including Pi’erre Bourne, ATL Jacob, Maaly Raw, Section 8, Wakeup F1LTHY, DJ Moon, and Bugz Ronin. Bourne handled production on the popular track “Free Agents,” which already surpassed 1 million views on YouTube, and shared production duties on “VICE CITY,” released alongside a new video on Friday. That video, which went live at 1 p.m. ET, continues their bold visual style.
Early favorites from the album include “5G,” which flips the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 track “Cherub Rock” into a fast, chaotic anthem packed with tension and a fierce beat drop. Other songs like “WATCH OUT!,” “CALL ON ME,” and “VILLAIN” lean into their raw and wild sound, while tracks such as “SOUL-FLY” and “JOHNNY CAGE” explore deeper Southern rap influences, signaling a new creative phase.
Homixide Lifestyle 2 comes after a year of momentum. In 2024, the duo released I5U5WE5, featuring Lil Yachty on “SIDE EFFExT,” and tracks like “R50” and “HI-VOLTAGE.”
They also played five sold-out shows in China, performing in venues that held 1,500 people, becoming some of the first Opium artists to tour there. Their year concluded with sets at Rolling Loud Miami and ComplexCon.
The album’s arrival follows months of build-up, with Homixide Gang performing unreleased songs at large-scale festivals like Rolling Loud California and Summer Smash Festival in Chicago.
