BuzzAngle Music’s annual year-end music report has revealed Eminem sold more albums than any other artist in 2018.
According to the data, Slim Shady is at the top of the list with a pure album sales total of 755,027 units. Roughly half of those numbers are attributed to Kamikaze, Em’s 10th studio album.
South Korean boy band BTS landed in the No. 2 spot with 603,307 total units, while country star Chris Stapleton settled in at No. 3 with 577,287.
Em also ranked at No. 4 in the Total Consumption category, trailing behind Drake (No. 1), Post Malone (No. 2) and XXXTENTACION (No. 4).
The Detroit-bred rap behemoth succeeded in the streaming category as well. With more than 2.5 billion streams, he reached the No. 4 spot.
Kamikaze was streamed over 760 million times and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart following last August’s release.
It also kicked off the highly publicized beef between Em and Machine Gun Kelly. As a result, MGK fired off the “Rap Devil” diss track and Em retaliated with “Killshot.” The latter marked YouTube’s biggest Hip Hop video debut in the platform’s history.
Kamikaze was ranked at No. 19 on HipHopDX’s Best Albums of 2018 list.
