Eminem on the Michael Jordan Last Dance documentary
“It’s incredible, there’s so much shit that I didn’t even know too. I don’t remember anything in particular as far as aside from the playing, it’s cool to hear the personal stories and all that too. But man, him on the court and how he was able to switch his shot in mid air and just do like … I’ve never seen that before and it just takes you right back to that time.”
Wayne and Eminem on Googling Their Own Lyrics
Lil Wayne: “If you go through my phone history, my Google history and you press L, first thing that will come up is Lil Wayne lyrics. I literally have to Google my lyrics to make sure I didn’t say certain stuff before.”
Eminem: “Man, that’s funny as hell, because … Oh man, yeah, I’ve been doing that for like the past five years, man.”
Eminem on Pleasing Old Fans and Reaching New Ones
“It’s like you’ve got to, you know what your core wants from you. I mean for the most part, I think we do. You know what I’m saying? You could shoot for that core audience, but at the same time, you’ve got to … it’s got to feel right to you, so I know you don’t put music out until it feels right to you.”
Lil Wayne and Eminem talk Run the Jewels
Eminem: “Killer Mike has been dope forever though, man.”
Lil Wayne: “Since day one, since day one, since day one. It’s awesome to see both of those, both of them too, when, like you say, us, we vets in this but when I saw them too on TV on the new video I was like, ‘Man, look at this shit. This is awesome-awesome.’ I had to Google to make sure I’m looking … it was what I was seeing. For real, man. ‘Is this really Killer Mike? He look awesome. What’s this?'”
Eminem on Lil Wayne’s “Mona Lisa” verse
“Yeah, man. Yo, I was going to say, yo, salute. These last couple albums, man, you been f—ing murdering shit. I was going to say too, man, I never got a chance to tell you but, you, Mona Lisa, your two verses on that shit got to be, has got to be one of the top five verses of all time. Yo, and the way that I love when rappers are able to tell a story. And don’t have to, don’t compromise any of the punchlines. Man, I just want to tell you, man, it’s … And it’s great to see you, me still doing it, you know what I’m saying? It’s definitely an art to this sh*t and, man, you got it mastered and … you’ve had it mastered.”
