Eminem has finally responded to last month’s hilarious SNL sketch, in which Pete Davidson and Chris Redd explained NFTs via Marshall’s 2002 hit “Without Me.”
In classic Slim Shady fashion, the reclusive rapper threw a bit of playful shade, posting a chin-scratching, eyebrow up emoji along with the original clip from the late March episode.
In the sketch, dubbed “NFTs,” the crew breaks down everything you need to know about non-fungible tokens.
“Two silicon boys were talking outside, talking outside, talking outside,” Davidson raps in the bit, where he’s dressed up as Em’s fake superhero character Rap Boy from the “Without Me” video. “Now what the hell’s an NFT/ Apparently cryptocurrency/ Everyone’s making so much money/ Can you please explain what’s an NFT?”
The sketch also features Redd as Eminem producer Dr. Dre, dressed in Morpheus gear to offer pills and give further insight into the current craze, which has resulted in one-of-a-kind digital music and art offerings by everyone from The Weeknd to Lindsay Lohan, Bhad Bhabie, Halsey, Post Malone and Kings of Leon.
“Non-fungibles, GIFs of Ron Funches eating Lunchables/ Or pics of Colin Jost’s face, very punchable/ Digital images of Digimon doin’ scrimmages/ Or a pic of a nun with a Nintendo Switch!” Redd rhymes in the musical breakdown, which also featuresa cameo from that night’s musical guest, rapper Jack Harlow.
“A dictionary with a pic of fat Jerry/ I made it last night and now I got $3,000/ And now I can buy me a GIF of Peter Griffin crossing up all-star ballers who are tall.”
