With The Marshall Mathers LP celebrating its 20th anniversary over the weekend (May 23), Eminem took some time out of his schedule on Wednesday afternoon (May 27) to catch up and chat with fans during a streaming party hosted by Spotify on his website.
The Real Slim Shady checked into the chat room around 3:10 pm ET and began fielding some questions from crazed fans flooding the glitchy site. He admits that his second verse on “I’m Back,” which finds him examining his music’s influence on the world, is his favorite from the project.
As far as what he’s listening to right now, Em can’t get enough of Young M.A.’s Red Flu EP, which dropped last week (May 22). The menacing duo also collaborated earlier this year on “Unaccommodating” from the Detroit native’s Music to Be Murdered By album.
Back in December, Andre 3000 spoke to Rick Rubin on his Broken Record podcast about how he used to call Eminem and they would nerd out about old-school hip-hop. Fast-forward to Wednesday, and Slim Shady says the Outkast rapper is the artist he’d most like to lock in a collaboration with before hanging up the mic for good.
Fans can text Eminem at 313-666-7440 to stay up to date with all of the 20th anniversary The Marshall Mathers LP merchandise dropping this week and in the future.
