T-Pain recently shared his thoughts about Drake on the Crash Dummies podcast, suggesting that the Canadian rapper had not followed his own advice regarding stepping away from music. T-Pain stated: “One thing I learned from Drake, but one thing he hasn’t followed his own words. Drake said, ‘I wanna be one of them people that gracefully bow out and not get kicked out.’”

He went on to say: “I have ever since said, ‘Thank y’all, I appreciate y’all. I’ll see y’all when I drop — don’t worry about it, I’ll just drop something. Let me know if you heard it,’ Drake is like, ‘No, listen. OK, I got another one. Hold on, check this out. Y’all ain’t like that one? OK, real quick, just one more. Let me try one more.’”

In reaction, Drake addressed the comments on Instagram, writing: “This guy always had resentment for me [laughing emoji]. You can hear it every time he speaks on my name.”

T-Pain had earlier commented on the joint album between Drake and PartyNextDoor, titled $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, suggesting it consisted of leftover material. He remarked: “So here’s my thing, I feel like [Drake] recorded a bunch of shit [and] in order to keep PARTY around, [he said], ‘You can take 10, 15 of these songs, put a verse on them and that’s our album,’” and added, “[He was probably like], ‘Bro, the songs are already recorded. These are all the songs that didn’t make my previous albums. Go for it, bro. Put verses on these songs.’”

He elaborated: “Yeah, there’s five to seven solo Drake songs…that didn’t make other albums. I’m not saying that they’re bad. These are just songs that didn’t make albums. Or the other way around. [Maybe] PARTY came to him with an album and was like, ‘Drake, can you put verses on these particular songs?’”

Earlier, T-Pain had also declined to take sides in the conflict between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, saying: “Drake or Kendrick? I choose to mind my fucking business. It ain’t got nothing to do with me. It ain’t gonna hurt my pockets if I pick one or the other. Don’t give a fuck.”
